Who Qualifies?
If you are a student at GPRC enrolled in 9 credits or more of study, you will be automatically assessed fees for the student health plan.
Will I Be Able to Add My Family?
If you wish to add family to your health/dental coverage you may apply to the Students’ Association for the additional coverage. Extra fees will apply and must be paid by tuition deadline.
GOING CARDLESS
In an effort to better serve our members and increase efficiency and expendiency, our plan is going cardless. You will no longer receive a health card from the GPRC. When you need to purchase a presecription you will not be required to show a card as proof of coverage as long as you have your student ID number handy.
Access to benefits will not be available until students have been fully registered with the insurer. Students will need to retain all receipts and will need to process a manual claim form for reimbursement until registration with the insurer is complete.
But I Already Have Coverage...
If you have health/dental coverage elsewhere you may opt of the student plan. You must present proof of alternate coverage to the SA and complete a waiver form in order to opt out!
To waive the health/dental care fees, the Students’ Association will require proof of other coverage by:
September 17, 2009 for students registered in the fall and by January 18, 2010 for students who begin in the winter semester.
THIS PLAN IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR PROVINCIAL HEALTH CARE PLAN IE: AB Health Care, BC Health Care; IT IS EXTENDED COVERAGE!!!
