(thought I'd check before I went on, lol)
So yeah, my comments on the increase in provincial minimum wage...
Well, as a student leader, I think it is difficult enough to work AND go to school (as many students do) and most jobs that are lax enough to allow you to work around your class schedule don't pay very well. So I see an increase as beneficial to those students...
But I think you raise a good point in your DHT article... living in Grande Prairie costs more than it does in other areas of Alberta, so how can one provincial minimum wage (unless it is set for people to live at the highest living costs in Alberta) really be enough for all Albertans to hypothetically live off of?

@Heather
Hi, sorry, I didn't get a chance to read this until just now...
I think that Grande Prairie is often proud of our job market, how well many jobs pay, and the fact that jobs are readily available (to some extent, and I am just generalizing a perceived, overall opinion)
However, I think there is a great deal of wage disparity here (i.e. there's a huge gap between rich and poor)... our average income is quite high, but that average is 'artificially' pulled up by the fact that a few people are just making ridiculous boat-loads of money... while the majority of people are making just enough to get by (with our high living expenses).
Can I ask, are you a student Heather?
